TEACHING STAFF

The Teaching Staff

The one thing all of our teachers have in common is the love for children. As this is their first school experience, we want to ensure that their introduction is positive, enriching and fun.

All of our teachers are qualified, trained and experienced. Many are Montessori trained with a Diploma in Early Childhood Education – a program that encompasses all aspects of a pre-school education. Some staff also possess both University Degrees as well as Montessori Training.

All of our staff are hired on the basis of their character, strengths, dedication to children and high standards of professionalism in pre-school education philosophies.

Our staff also includes certified music, French, and Spanish teachers.

Parent-Teacher Communication

It is very important for us, as teachers of young children, to keep the lines of communication open on several different levels. Our main objectives are to provide a comfortable atmosphere in which children thrive and learn, and where parents are welcome to ask questions, give suggestions, and provide information and feedback.

Parent-Teacher Interviews:

Parent Teacher interviews are scheduled by the teacher to discuss the child’s program, however, if a parent wishes to arrange a meeting with the teacher that can be quickly accommodated.

Open-door Policy:

We strongly believe in an open door policy. If parents have any concerns, appointments can easily be arranged before or after class for a personal meeting with the teacher. Even a telephone call may suffice to keep the lines of communications open.

Parent Workshops:

Parent Workshops are held to enable parents to better understand the Montessori method in the unique materials and curriculum that is followed at the school which address the needs that exist during a particular stage in the child’s development.

Home Phone Calls:

Parents are called at home during the school year to inform them of their child’s program. Any suggestions or concerns may be discussed at this time.

Newsletter:

Parents will receive a newsletter each month to inform them of upcoming events, themes, field trips, special activities, or class presentations.

Open-House:

Parents are invited with their child to come visit our classrooms, where the child can proudly show the parents their work, favourite activities, and workspace. This informal visit in a relaxed setting can be gratifying and rewarding for both parents and children.
